Plant & Sing

Sylvester Manor Educational Farm’s annual Plant & Sing Festival of Art and Food is held every year over Columbus Day weekend.  At the family-friendly event, all are welcome to gather and transform the Sylvester Manor fields through farming, festive song and dance, recitations, and food events.  It’s the community harvest festival tradition made new, by preserving old customs and exploring how to create a contemporary culture of food that is joyful, alive with people, and rooted in place.  Proceeds from Plant & Sing contribute to the organization’s year-round arts and education programming, which connect the community with history, food, and culture.

The Fifth Annual Plant & Sing was a huge success, for more information about the 2013 festival, please visit www.plantandsing.com.

  2. It would be helpful to list local places to stay, if coming from out of state and unfamiliar with area. Camping, hostels (if any), B&B’s, hotels, motels or a link to that regional info. plus ferry schedules, taxi’s, trains servicing area, bus’s (I doubt any) any helpful info. Is it bike-able from the train station or ferry, info like that. Thank you, Cathy
