Young Farmers Program

ages 5 – 10

Select Weeks  |  Mon- Thurs 9 am – Noon, Friday 9 am – 1 pm

**Note: Young Farmers Program is now fully booked for the summer! Please call the office at 631.749.0626 for wait-list options.**

The Young Farmers will learn about the processes and systems involved in the management and production on a farm. Activities will include collecting eggs from the chickens, milking goats, feeding pigs, harvesting and planting vegetables, learning about composting systems and helping to mulch or manage planted beds.

Young Farmers will also create farm-based artwork in the afternoons, as a way for children to learn about where food comes from and how to use it in fun ways in their daily lives.

We will meet every day from 9am-Noon, and children will be expected to bring their own snack.

As a special treat on Friday’s from Noon to 1, there will be a special farm grown, organic lunch cooked with the help of the young farmers for the whole family to come and enjoy!
